As autumn has arrived in Australia, it's time to think about how we can pacify the vata dosha? Vata can be easily perturbed during the autumn season. Vata is light and cold, therefore, in order to balance the vata dosha we need food and herbs that are warming and tonifying. Sweet food are nourishing in nature. But sweet does not mean you choose to go for cakes and candies. Sweet food includes many good choices in Ayurveda and one of them certainly can be dates.
The best way to eat dates is to enjoy them separately- 30 to 45 minutes before, or an hour after your meal. This will ensure that your body will be able to better assimilate the nutrition out of the dates. This rule apply to most fruits for their optimal digestion.
