From the Ayurvedic perspective, this is one of the rarest herb that is said to be tridoshic,

i.e. balancing to all 3 doshas. It enhances the Sattvic energy in the body and mind.

Brahmi tonify majja dhatu or the brain tissues. It releases muscular tension and helps in

treating constipation caused by stress. The temperature of this herb is from cooling to

slightly warm, therefore can be given to anyone regardless of their individual Ayurvedic

constitution.


In some people, Brahmi slightly suppress the appetite. Therefore, it's a good idea to

consume it with some digestive stimulants like ginger and cardamom unless you want to

practice fasting! Brahmi can be a bit drying in nature so it should not be overused in case

of vata dosha aggravation.
