Aloe Vera

Known as ‘Ghratakumari’ in the Sanskrit language meaning ‘ a young maiden’. This name implies that this plant gives woman youth and it has potent regenerating effects on the females. No surprise that aloe vera is one of the most important herbs in the important herbal formulas used in Ayurveda to regulate menstrual health. It helps in pain and menstrual cramps along with headache, mood swings, skin breakouts due to menstruation. It helps in regulating the erratic menstrual cycles and menorrhagia. Aloe vera is bitter and cooling. It has a balancing effects on all the three doshas but its benefits on pitta doshas are even stronger. This is another Sattvic herb of Ayurveda that means it is fit herb for the sadhak who engaged in spiritual practices striving for samadhi.

Stimulates the production of white blood cells in the body

Strengthens the immune system

Hydrates and strengthens hair and scalp

Caution:

If you are a Vata constitution, then use it moderately. If you use fresh slices of aloe vera from your garden then it is best to consume it as quickly as possible. If you want to store it, then store it in the freezer section.


Recipe :

To make an aloe vera juice, use one cup of water for every 2 tablespoons of aloe gel. You can add other ingredients like fruits. Use a blender to prepare your delicious aloe vera drink!
